After multiple leaks and rumors, Xiaomi has now launched the next iteration of its Redmi Note 5 Pro— the Redmi Note 6 Pro in Thailand. The main highlight of the smartphone is its quad cameras (–the first Xiaomi phone to sport four cameras) with AI capabilities i.e dual rear-facing and dual front-facing selfie cameras. The Note 6 Pro retains all the specs from its predecessor except the camera and a notch display.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: A Redmi Note 5 Pro Successor!
Talking about the specifications, the Note 6 Pro features a 6.26-inch Full HD+ (2280×1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch above as seen in Redmi 6 Pro, thus offering 86% screen-to-body ratio. There’s also a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass that protects the display. On the rear, it has a circular shaped fingerprint sensor and a vertically aligned dual camera lens with unibody metal construction.Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and coupled with an Adreno 509 GPU for handling the graphics. In terms of the memory configuration, it comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM, there’s also an option for storage expansion up to 128GB via MicroSD card with a dedicated slot. For the software front, the Note 6 Pro runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 10 on top. The handset is fueled by a huge 4000 mAh with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support.
Coming to the camera department, the Redmi Note 6 Pro sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12-megapixel primary camera (—f/1.9 aperture) with dual-tone LED Flash and dual PD focus along with a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor for portraits. While on the front, there is also hosing a dual camera setup with the combination of 20-megapixel primary camera (—Sony IMX376 sensor, f/2.0 aperture) with 4-in-1 Superpixel 1.8μm pixel size and a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor for portrait selfies. Both the cameras offer several AI features including AI portrait, AI scene recognition and AI face unlock coupled with Infrared Sensor.

Pricing and Availability:
The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes in three color options – Rose Gold, Blue, and Black. The smartphone is priced at THB 6,990 (US$ 216 / Rs. 15,660 approx.). It will be available in Thailand at the ongoing Mobile Expo and Lazada. Unfortunately, there’s no information revealed by the company regarding its launch in India.
