After launching the entry-level smartphones, Panasonic has now entered into the high-end smartphone segment with the launch of two new mid-range offerings called the Panasonic Eluga X1 and Eluga X1 Pro, in India last week. The main highlights of these two new smartphones are its notched display, AI dual rear cameras and an ‘AI Sense’ infrared face unlock feature.

Both these two smartphones feature the same design and the similar specifications expect its memory options. Talking about the specs, both the Eluga X1 and X1 Pro come with a 6.18-inch FHD+ (2246 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a regular notch with a 2.5 curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the top. Underneath the hood, both the devices are powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 SoC, and coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. In terms of the memory configuration, the Eluga X1 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the Eluga X1 Pro comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, both are having an option for storage expansion with MicroSD card up to 128GB and 256GB respectively.Coming to the camera module, both the Eluga X1 and X1 Pro sports a dual rear camera setup with the combination of 16-megapixel primary camera with an AI scene detection that intelligently recognizes up to 800 scenes in the frame and adjusts the settings to its preference automatically, along with a 5-megapixel secondary camera to capture depth-information on portrait shots. While on the front, it houses a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with AI Face Beauty, Bokeh Mode, and Face Emojis.For the Software front, the phones run on Android 8.1 Oreo with the custom UI on top. For Security, both the devices come equipped with IR Face unlock that unlocks the phone even in dark conditions and a circular shaped rear-mounted Fingerprint scanner. The handsets are fueled by similar 3000mAh battery with fast charging support.While the Eluga X1 Pro has wireless charging support.
