After several leaks and TENAA certification being surfaced in an internet over the past weeks, Now, Huawei on today has launched its latest flagship smartphone under the Nova lineup called the Huawei Nova 3 in China.
The Nova 3 become the first ever smartphone that come-up with notch display and AI-powered Dual cameras setup both on the front and rear from the Huawei. The main highlights of the Nova 3 are Kirin SoC (—the company’s own chipset) and GPU Turbo Technology. So here’s everything you need to know about the Huawei Nova 3.
Huawei Nova 3: Display
The Nova 3 features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 85% of NTSC color gamut. There is a Notch at the top of the display ( —adopted by iPhone X style) that houses front cameras with LED light and various sensors. However, it also has a 3D curved glass that covers the display.
Huawei Nova 3: Processor, RAM, and Storage
Under the hood, the Nova 3 is powered by Huawei’s Hisilicon Kirin 970 octa-core processor (clocked at 2.36GHz) coupled with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU and i7 co-processor. For the higher graphics performance, the company adds new feature GPU Turbo ( GT) technology, which apparently boosts the performance and efficiency by up to 60% and reduces power consumption by 30%. The phone comes in two variants 6GB RAM with 64GB Internal Storage (or) 6GB RAM with 128GB Internal Storage. The storage also has an option to extend up to 256GB via microSD card slot. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 UI.
Huawei Nova 3: Camera
Coming to the cameras department, the Nova 3 sports dual camera setup on its front and rear i.e both sides( the company claims that it’ll be the first ever smartphone). Starting off with the dual rear camera setup comprising of a 16-megapixel primary RGB sensor with LED flash, and AI scene detection that can detect over 500 facial points along with a 24-megapixel secondary Monochrome sensor with a f/1.8 aperture for amazing portrait shots ( Bokeh effect ).On the front, there is also a dual camera setup consists of a 24-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture alongside a 2-megapixel secondary camera for fantastic selfies. Moreover the front camera also supports; Face Unlocking feature that uses Infra-red light to identify the faces even in dark conditions (—similar to the iPhone X) and 3D Emojis ( —Huawei’s debutant feature and is copied from Apple’s Animojis), that uses the front camera to recognizes the facial expression and recreates as an Animated emojis.
Huawei Nova 3: Battery and Connectivity
The hardware is fuelled by a 3750 mAh non-removable battery with support for fast charging. In terms of connectivity, the Nova 3 comes with Dual 4G VoLTE, Dual-band Wi-Fi, and all other default connectivity options.

Pricing and Availability
The Huawei Nova 3 comes in three colors; Black, Blue, Gold, and Purple. Currently, the phone is available to pre-order from Vmall in China. The pricing will be announced on July 18th, while it will go sale starting from July 20th.
