Yesterday, HTC announced their mid-range smartphone HTC U12 Life — is a lite variant of HTC U12+ Flagship offering, at IFA 2018 in Berlin. The U12 Life is the successors to the last year’s U11 Life. The main highlight of the phone is its dual-tone liquid finish design which offers the smartphone look more premium even at the mid-range category.

HTC U12 Life: Is Really a Google Pixel Clone?

The U12 Life flaunts a 6.0″-inch FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and there’s no notch on top. A 2.5D curved glass with Corning Gorilla Glass Protection (unspecified version). In terms of the design, it has a dual-tone liquid finish at the back, which includes a soft acrylic glass on the top and subtle stripes on the bottom with a glass unibody, which is similar to the Google Pixel’s design. Hence, the mid-range device even looks like premium flagship offering. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. It packs a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable via a MicroSD. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with HTC’ Sense UI on top. The handset is fuelled by 3600mAh battery and lacks Fast Charging. Coming to the camera, it sports a vertically placed dual rear camera setup consisting of a 16-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture, LED Flash and PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus )along with a 5-megapixel secondary depth-sensing sensor to capture portrait shots. On the front, it houses a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash, Fixed-Focus and supports for Face Unlock. It also has a rear-mounted Fingerprint sensor for added security option.

The HTC U12 Life comes in two color models– Moonlight Blue and Twilight Purple. It is priced at EUR 330 ( US$ 390 / Rs 27,620 Approx.) in the UK and will be available in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East countries by the end of this September. Stay tuned!
