BlackBerry Indian brand licensee, Optiemus Infracom has finally launched its latest smartphone — BlackBerry KEY2 LE in India. The smartphone was first introduced at the IFA 2018 event in August. The KEY2 LE is a toned-down version of Blackberry KEY 2, that was launched in India back in June for Rs 42,990. The main highlight of the smartphone is its iconic physical QWERTY keypad.

The BlackBerry KEY2 LE features a 4.5″-inch FHD+ (1620 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with 3:2 aspect ratio, 433 PPI, and is protected under a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the top. Below the display, it comes with the iconic Blackberry’s 4-row physical QWERTY keypad with a new dedicated ‘Speed key’ that allows the users to add up to 52 customizable shortcuts to open any contact or apps on your phone with a combination of key shortcuts. There’s a Fingerprint sensor is embedded onto a Spacebar key like BlackBerry KEY2. Under the hood, it is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC (—clocked @1.8GHz) and coupled with Adreno 509 GPU handling the graphics. On memory configuration, the smartphone comes in two storage configurations— either 32GB or 64GB internal storage with 4GB of RAM both, there’s also has a room for storage expansion up to 256GB via MicroSD card slot. For the software front, the phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. Coming to the camera department, the KEY2 LE sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel primary camera (—f/2.2 aperture) with dual-tone LED Flash along with the 5-megapixel secondary depth-sensing camera is used to capture the depth information on portrait shots. While on the front, it houses an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture. Furthermore, it also comes with blackberry’s security app— DTEK that protects your personal data and manage permissions appropriately. The handset is fueled by a 3,000mAh battery and it can support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.
